It's probably not fair to judge one movie based on another. Pieces of art are meant to be evaluated on their own merit, not how they stack up to others in the genre. That said, the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie got good reviews and I didn't like it much at all. Some scenes (like Mike Teavee and the transporter) were exactly the same as the original. Others (like the first glimpse of the chocolate meadow) didn't stack up. I know this is a ridiculous post. So sorry.
