It's 2:45 a.m. Pacific time and Bush and Kerry are split by only 2 electoral college votes. C'mon Ohio! Make a girl proud!
Can I also add that Election Day is like Christmas coming early for anyone in the newspapering biz? On the first Tuesday in November, and especially during a presidential election year, it's like the newsroom goes on a serious bender.
There are so many tasks to be accomplished on this one night that people quite literally run around screaming, grabbing pages, bouncing headline ideas off anyone who will listen and generally creating the kind of scene that an ideological young journalist hopes for when going into the business. And tonight, I think I might be the only one at the paper who would like to do the whole thing over again tomorrow.
